Detective -
Gather clues, analyze evidence, solve campus “crimes” as you investigate
mysteries and become a “Crime Scene Investigator.”

Newscast - Become a news reporter and
present a live television broadcast of the happenings at College Gate® and more.
Chess-Beginner -
Learn how logic, strategy and creative problem solving skills are applied from
the opening move to checkmate.
Chess-Experienced
- Continue to develop your
knowledge through advanced tactics, set plays and strategies.
Crazy for Cartoons
- From superheroes to
television icons, develop and practice the skills of a cartoonist; create your
own storyboard(s), character(s) and situation(s).
Creatures of the Land and Sea
- Through music, story and art, learn about various creatures; insects, turtles,
bats, butterflies, dinosaurs, ocean mammals and more.
Computer Technology
- Explore a variety of programs and their applications including computer
graphics, illustration and elements of the web.
Earth, Wind and Fire
- Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and typhoons are investigated utilizing
exploration, experimentation and observation.
Electricity -
Unveil the secrets of circuits, current and electric power using batteries,
wire, lights and more.
Experiment with Engineering
- Discover the many exciting aspects of physics as you explore engineering,
build structures and learn how things work.
Flying Things -
Design and experiment with model airplanes, gliders, paper airplanes and more as
you discover the physics of drag, lift and thrust.
Hip
Hop Horray - As
you jam to the hip hop beats, discover the top rock, jump-cross-turn, running
step, slide and more as you choreograph a dance show.
Math Is Everywhere
- Explore, investigate and
discover how math is all around us. Experience concepts such as geometry,
patterns and graphing through problem solving activities.
Magic: The Card Game
-(Beginner level, for grades 2 & 3
ONLY). Immerse
yourself in the adventures of this fantasy game while applying logic and
strategy.
"Pet"pourri -
Learn about the care and training of various household pets as you work with
live k-9 therapy dogs, rabbits, reptiles, hamsters and gerbils.
Robotics (grades
2 & 3 ONLY)
- Construct a variety
of moving vehicles and program them for a series of team challenges.
Science Discovery
- Explore a variety of sciences such as Chemistry, Biology & Physics along with
their "lab" procedures through a diverse set of hands-on experiments.
Sculpture with Clay
- Using air-dried clay, learn how to become a sculptor and make many three
dimensional art forms.
Space Creatures -
Combine science and imagination as you discover planets, galaxies, rockets,
aliens, star constellations and extraterrestrials.
Woodworkers -
Measure, saw, drill, sand, hammer, nail, assemble and finish a variety of wooden
projects.
