Building the Foundation

College Gate® grew out of an overwhelming parent request for a program similar to College Academy® but for their younger children. The result was a one of a kind project based, hands-on learning experience that adopted the philosophy and success of College Academy®.

Started as a half-day program, parents were able to supplement their summer activities with courses in Art, Computers, Drama, History, Gaming, Math, Science, Writing and more.

During its first summer, over 300 students enrolled at two program locations to discover, "Where Learning Is Fun."


Developing the Growth

During the second year, there were over 700 students enrolled in 4 program locations. The growth continued as parents recognized the benefits of a small class size, unique course offerings and a dedicated teaching staff composed of professional educators as well as experienced practitioners.

During the past 29 years, College Gate® has developed into a premier non-residential enrichment program offered at 4 locations with 5 program sessions.

We are thrilled to have spanned a generation with former students now sending their own children to the program while other "alumni" are working as instructors and even a few hold the position of Site Director.



 
Sustaining the Quality by Maintaining Focus

Rather than expanding into a number of unrelated activities, our organization has remained focused on providing  enjoyable program experiences through our hands-on approach both in and out of the classroom.

  • Our curriculum is developed by the program's Founder in conjunction with our Site Director's, Central Administration and Teaching Staff.
     

  • We do not hire outside agencies to recruit or interview our teaching candidates.
     

  • Each student schedule is done by hand to ensure your selection and satisfaction. Whenever necessary, you are contacted to verify any questions that may arise during this process.
     

  • College Gate® provides an exceptional value to parents and students who are seeking a unique hands-on experience.
     

  • There are no "ladders" to climb when seeking answers. Throughout the registration process, your issues are quickly and clearly addressed by one of the two central administrators.
     

  • During the program, the Director has complete control and his/her decisions reflect those of the central administration. The only exception is that all financial issues are handled out of the central office.
     

  • Supported by a five member board, the Founder and two Executive Directors (Central Administration) work year-round to provide each student with exciting academic experiences. Meticulous attention is paid to each detail so that your experience is one to remember.
